1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Selection Sathi platform ("Service"), including our website and mobile application, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Selection Sathi, governed by the laws of India, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

2. Description of Service

Selection Sathi is an online exam preparation platform designed for Indian government and railway examinations, including but not limited to SSC (CGL, CHSL, MTS), RRB (NTPC, Group D), UPSC, and State PSC exams. The Service provides:

• Practice questions with detailed explanations in English and Hindi
• Full-length mock tests simulating real exam conditions
• AI-powered doubt resolution and concept explanations
• Performance analytics and progress tracking
• Personalised study plans
• Leaderboards and competitive rankings
• PDF downloads of test results and study materials (Pro users)

3. User Accounts

3.1 Registration

To use Selection Sathi, you must register using your mobile phone number. We use Firebase Phone Authentication with OTP (One-Time Password) verification. You must provide a valid Indian mobile number and complete the OTP verification process.

3.2 Account Responsibility

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activities that occur under your account. You must not share your account credentials or allow others to access your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised use.

3.3 Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years of age to use Selection Sathi. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this age requirement.

4. Subscription Plans and Payments

4.1 Free Tier

Selection Sathi offers a free tier with limited daily practice questions, monthly mock tests, and AI chat interactions. Free-tier users will see advertisements on the platform.

4.2 Pro Subscription

The Pro subscription provides enhanced limits, advanced analytics, PDF downloads, study plans, and an ad-free experience. Subscription pricing is displayed on the pricing page and may be updated from time to time.

4.3 Payments

All payments are processed through Razorpay and support UPI and other Indian payment methods. Prices are displayed in Indian Rupees (INR) and are inclusive of applicable taxes (GST).

4.4 Refund Policy

Refund requests may be submitted within 7 days of purchase if the Service is not as described. Refunds are processed at our discretion and will be credited to the original payment method within 5-7 business days. No refunds will be provided after the 7-day period or if the subscription has been substantially used.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Copy, reproduce, distribute, or publicly display any content from the platform without prior written permission
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the Service
• Use automated tools, bots, or scrapers to access the platform or its content
• Share your account with others or create multiple accounts
• Attempt to manipulate leaderboard rankings or test scores
• Upload or transmit any harmful, offensive, or inappropriate content
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
• Circumvent subscription restrictions or payment requirements

6. Intellectual Property

All content on Selection Sathi, including questions, explanations, study materials, AI-generated content, mock test designs, and the platform software, is the intellectual property of Selection Sathi or its licensors. This content is protected under the Copyright Act, 1957 of India.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the content for personal, non-commercial exam preparation purposes only. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from the content without our explicit written consent.

7. AI-Generated Content

Selection Sathi uses artificial intelligence (powered by Claude/Anthropic) for doubt resolution and content generation. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated responses may occasionally contain errors. You should verify important information from official sources. Selection Sathi is not responsible for decisions made based solely on AI-generated content.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee:

• That the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
• The accuracy or completeness of any content, including questions and explanations
• That using Selection Sathi will result in success in any particular examination
• The availability of specific features at all times

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable Indian law, Selection Sathi and its directors, employees, and partners shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or exam failure.

Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid for the subscription in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

10. Communication

By registering on Selection Sathi, you consent to receiving communications from us through WhatsApp, Telegram, SMS, or email regarding:

• Exam notifications, updates, and reminders
• Study plan reminders and motivational messages
• Subscription and payment-related information
• Platform updates and new feature announcements

You may opt out of non-essential communications at any time through your account settings.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct that we determine is harmful to other users or the platform. You may also delete your account at any time by contacting our support team.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Any data associated with your account may be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

12. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in New Delhi, India.

Before initiating legal proceedings, both parties agree to attempt to resolve disputes through good-faith negotiation for a period of at least 30 days.

13. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via the platform or through registered contact details. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
