Exam pattern
Each level (primary Varg 3, middle-school Varg 2, and higher levels) is a 150-question, 150-mark paper in 2.5 hours, with no negative marking — attempt every single question.

- Language II (English/Sanskrit/Urdu as applicable) — 30 questions

- Environmental Studies — 30 questions (subject-specific sections replace Maths/EVS at higher levels)
- Qualifying marks: generally 60% (with relaxation to ~50% for reserved categories) — the certificate then remains valid for recruitment per current state rules.
The pedagogy core
Child Development & Pedagogy (CDP) is the exam’s identity — theories of learning and development (Piaget, Vygotsky, Kohlberg), inclusive education, assessment concepts, learning difficulties and the teaching implications of each. Beyond its own 30 questions, pedagogy-style questions also appear inside the language, maths and EVS sections ("how would you teach…"), so CDP understanding multiplies across the paper.
Preparation strategy
MP TET rewards steady NCERT-level subject revision plus pedagogy fluency; two to three focused months are typically sufficient.
- Study CDP theory with application-style PYQs, not just definitions — the exam asks scenarios.
- Revise Maths and EVS from Class 1–8 NCERT/state textbooks at teaching depth (why an answer is right, not just what it is).
- Practice both language sections’ grammar and comprehension daily in their scripts.
- Because there is no negative marking, train to finish all 150 questions with time to revisit marked ones.
